Our History

From humble beginnings, Nexus Care Services has grown to become one of the leading home care providers in the West Midlands.

As we celebrate our 10^th anniversary, we want to share our past with you and look to the future of our award-winning home care services.

1993

1992

Our founder John Court begins Firstpoint Healthcare, which grows over 10 years to become an international success with 18 offices in the UK, two in Australia and one in Canada.

2004

Routes Healthcare joins the family and eight offices follow, providing nurses and carers to the NHS.

2009

Primera Healthcare is formed and follows the success of its predecessors.

2014

Nexus Care Services is born, as John, his family and his team launch a new service focused purely on domiciliary care.

2021

Nexus Retail and Advocacy services are founded to support people with accessing the services and products they need.

2022

We branch out again with the creation of Nexus Events – a dedicated service that offers care-supported events and trips.

2023

We launched our Children’s and Young Adults service.

2024

Celebrated our 10-year anniversary of providing Home Care to people in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

2026

2025

Began an official sponsorship of Sutton United F.C. and was declared a winner at the West Midlands Care Association Awards.

2026

Named Royal Sutton Coldfield Business of the Year at the Royal Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth and Cannock Chase Awards 2026.

Where we are now

10+ years on from the foundation of Nexus Care Services, we now provide carers to more than 2,000 calls each week throughout the West Midlands.

Our CQC rating remains “Good”, and we are proud of our perfect 9.8 out of 10 score with another independent regulator based on feedback from our satisfied service users – making us the leading home care provider in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth.

Looking ahead we have big ambitions to spread our person-centred approach further afield as we support more people and introduce more workers to the world of care.
